Qu\u2019est-ce que la loi sans la conviction, acquise apr\u00e8s un long cheminement de r\u00e9flexion et de sagesse, que tout \u00eatre humain est sacr\u00e9 et inviolable ? C\u2019est une v\u00e9rit\u00e9 incontournable que nous reconnaissons par la raison et que nous acceptons par la conscience. Une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 est noble et respectable aussi par son sens de qu\u00eate de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 et son attachement aux v\u00e9rit\u00e9s les plus fondamentales.\"\u00a0 <\/em>(Fratelli Tutti n\u00ba 207)<\/strong><\/p><p>Nous approchons de la Semaine Sainte et de l'histoire riche, mais tragique, de la passion de Notre Seigneur.  Pour moi, l'une des lignes les plus frappantes de l'\u00c9vangile de Jean (Jn 18:37) est celle o\u00f9 un Pilate bouffon s'exclame :  \"Qu'est-ce que la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 ?\"  Avec ces quatremots, il rejette les v\u00e9rit\u00e9s les plus fondamentales de notre existence, \u00e0 savoir que nous sommes cr\u00e9\u00e9s et soutenus par un Dieu aimant, qui nous appelle \u00e0 vivre selon sa Parole, selon LA V\u00c9RIT\u00c9.    Une partie de cette v\u00e9rit\u00e9 consiste \u00e0 admettre qu'il existe une dignit\u00e9 sacr\u00e9e dela personne humaine, detoute la cr\u00e9ation, pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment parce que Dieu a pens\u00e9 tellement \u00e0 nous pour partager avec nous cette partie de lui-m\u00eame.   Ces v\u00e9rit\u00e9s ne sont pas cr\u00e9\u00e9es par nous, mais plut\u00f4t d\u00e9couvertes par l'attention port\u00e9e \u00e0 la R\u00e9v\u00e9lation.  Une fois d\u00e9couvertes, elles doivent devenir les rep\u00e8res de notre vie.<\/p><p>Comme le mentionne le pape Fran\u00e7ois dans cet article, \"Une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 est noble et respectable aussi par son sens de qu\u00eate de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 et son attachement aux v\u00e9rit\u00e9s les plus fondamentales \".  \u00c0 l'inverse, on peut conclure qu'une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qui perd de vue la v\u00e9rit\u00e9, ou pire encore, qui perd le respect de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9, ou qui cr\u00e9e des \"v\u00e9rit\u00e9s alternatives\" est une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 ignoble et ind\u00e9cente.  C'est une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 qui a perdu le cadeau sp\u00e9cial donn\u00e9 \u00e0 l'humanit\u00e9 par le Cr\u00e9ateur -- la capacit\u00e9 de voir la vraie v\u00e9rit\u00e9 r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9e par ce m\u00eame cr\u00e9ateur, et de vivre en tant que b\u00e9n\u00e9ficiaires de cette connaissance.<\/p><p>Nous n'avons pas besoin de chercher tr\u00e8s loin pour voir et exp\u00e9rimenter la perte du respect de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9.  En fait, il est de plus en plus difficile de discerner la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 de la d\u00e9sinformation, malgr\u00e9 une expansion exponentielle des m\u00e9dias et des moyens de communication.  Cela montre que ce n'est pas une question de technologie, mais une question de respect et d'humilit\u00e9.  Acceptons-nous denous conformer \u00e0 une v\u00e9rit\u00e9 objective que nous n'avons pas cr\u00e9\u00e9e ?    Acceptons-nous d'\u00eatre libres, mais dans les limites de la d\u00e9cence et d'exigences plus grandes que nos propres d\u00e9sirs et commodit\u00e9s ?  Ce ne sont pas des questions que nous sommes autoris\u00e9s \u00e0 poser aujourd'hui, dans notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9 \"libre\".  Mais si nous ne les posons pas, ne sommes-nous pas esclaves d'un narcissisme subjectif \u00e9gocentrique ?<\/p><p>R\u00e9fl\u00e9chissons cette semaine \u00e0 la fa\u00e7on dont nous pouvons r\u00e9sister \u00e0 l'attrait de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d'aujourd'hui pour l'autor\u00e9f\u00e9rence.  En fait, il n'est pas mauvais de poser la question \"Qu'est-ce que la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 ?\" aussi longtemps qu'on veut vraiment d\u00e9couvrir (et vivre selon) la r\u00e9ponse !<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Is it possible to be concerned for truth, to seek the truth that responds to life\u2019s deepest meaning?
